In last week’s article, I discussed how beliefs influence the power to manifest your desires. You may recall that having a desire is not enough to guarantee success. The relationship between desires and manifesting them is akin to setting out on an overseas journey and forgetting to pack your suitcase. Intention coupled with inspired action creates a desirable outcome.

I referenced two principles that influence the power to create your wishes; belief and subconscious programmes. These elements have the potential to thwart your manifestation or elevate them to new heights.

In this article, we’ll discuss pivotal steps toward releasing unconscious beliefs. In doing so, you become aware in order to reframe them into empowering ones. I asked you to make a list of aspects of your life you were unhappy with. Hopefully you’ve had some time to review the list to gain clarity on what you wish to work through.

One of my preferred methods to remove emotional blocks is journaling. The writing process is a powerful medium as it brings together the conscious and unconscious minds. In order to manifest your desires, it’s imperative to identify the root cause of the block. Journaling is one such process as it established communication between the two minds.

I personally find evenings is the best time to journal; although first thing in the morning is also a suitable period. Due to brain waves, the unconscious mind is in an ideal state to be influenced during the morning and late at night. I would encourage you to experiment between the two to find what works best for you.

Firstly, begin writing a statement at the top of the page which defines your goal or desire: e.g. I want to be in a loving relationship with a man/woman whom is; kind, gentle, loving, caring, attentive, generous, patient etc. List the qualities of what you desire, being specific about what you seek. If it is a material requirement, list the feelings associated with having the object. Having a Porsche 911 holds little value to a person if you don’t know why you want it. It might be: prestige, reward, status, luxury etc. We wish to establish an inner discourse using this process.

After completing the above exercise, make a list of what is stopping you from achieving them. Be honest in your appraisal. The more honest you can be, the better the outcome. This process is about self awareness.

Through awareness, your thoughts are brought to the forefront of your mind, thus engaging the frontal lobe which seeks solutions.

Let’s return to the earlier example of relationships. You desire to be in a loving relationship with a kind, gentle, loving, caring, attentive, generous man or woman. Your attention is not orientated toward your failed attempts to attract this person into your life up to this point. Those thoughts reinforce undesirable features; thus instructing the subconscious mind to be attentive to those qualities in a person. Your focus should be directed toward that which you seek and nothing more.

I often hear people talk about what they don’t want in the opening sentences of a conversation. They conclude by stating their wants toward the end of the conversation. Unfortunately the subconscious mind only hears what you don’t want since it constitutes 90% of what is being communicated. Turn the conversation around by focussing on 90% of what you WANT.

Continuing with our self examination, write a list of what you perceive is stopping you achieve your desires e.g., I’m not pretty enough, I’m too different that nobody would want to be with me, I’m ugly, I’m overweight etc. Your list need not be physical attributes e.g. I’m too demanding, I’m inpatient, I don’t have time in my life to go out dating, I’m scared of meeting new people etc.

The more you write, the more details emerge. Journaling is a process and not an event – it’s a process of self discovery. Initially there may be very little resembling a story on paper, though with time, the story emerges, resulting in a breakthrough. The journaling process may take hours or days. They key is to continue writing until you FEEL a connection or inner shift.

Allow me to illustrate via a personal example. My childhood upbringing involved active discipline from my father – as most growing children receive. I would run away when I sensed anger from my father for something I was in trouble for. This behaviour translated into adult life during confrontations with others. I felt a need to flee the interaction when I sensed hostility. Being acutely aware of this behaviour, I addressed it through journaling and self examination.

I realised my childhood habit of running away from my father crossed over into my adult life and was not serving me anymore. I wrote down possible solutions by re-framing alternative ways to deal with the confrontation. The new behaviour allowed me to heal the past and create a new behaviour model built on communication and interaction. It took me two to three sessions to experience a breakthrough. I felt a shift in energy by becoming aware of my outdated behaviour.

The key to subconscious action is realising your behaviour or thinking is outdated by replacing it with a new empowering model.

We may inherit beliefs that are not of our choosing. They may no longer serve you. Knowing you’ve arrived at that point in your life is paramount. It may be summoned by an unwanted event or chaos.

Subconscious action is a powerful force for manifesting desirable change. When you align with the infinite power of your mind, amazing circumstances unfold. You become the master of your destiny. You become the architect of your dreams.

Make a choice to remove and release any obstacles which stop you from achieving your greatest potential. Examine your inner world by continually noticing the ebb and flow of your inner dialogue.

Take purposeful action toward creating your desires by aligning yourself with your heart’s desire. When you co-create life in collaboration with your subconscious mind, you manifest goals which are perfectly suited to you. They are brought to life with ease, perfection and in the least amount of time.

    How funny the universe works – I was talking with my work colleague this morning about my journal and how the whole process has helped me enormously.

    A close friend has been recommending that I start a journal. After much convincing and 12 months later – I’m glad I have a journal and will keep writing.
